Monthly Recap January 2011
We begin 2011 as many organizations do: busy! Nine organizations found time to launch their new web presence ... even in the dead of winter! Learn more!
Horsham Soccer Association (HSA) is a non-profit community organization based in Montgomery County, PA dedicated to providing the young people in the area an opportunity to learn, play, and enjoy the great game of soccer. HSA was founded in 1978 by Wolfgang Fischer. Fischer foresaw the population explosion about to occur in Horsham and wanted to provide a soccer environment for those players aspiring to a higher level of play - in addition to intramural players.
During the summer of 1969, John Walker, Dennis Smith, Walt Ulica, were discussing the need of youth soccer in Northern Virginia. With this agreement, the Lee-Mt. Vernon Soccer Club (LMVSC) was born. LMVSC has always emphasized participation, teaching basic skills, sportsmanship and team play. LMVSC developed a league that provides for increased level of play to meet the needs of the players. The League is organized into recreational and travel programs.
The Metropolitan Oval Foundation is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the promotion and development of youth soccer in New York. Met Oval's mission is to provide a unique opportunity for youth from underprivileged urban areas in New York to participate in soccer programs; to encourage good sportsmanship; to encourage teamwork; and to learn the necessary skills to play competitive youth soccer throughout the United States & around the world.
Located in Northern California, the Mill Valley Soccer Club (MVSC) is dedicated to player development at all levels and to providing opportunities to every player to realize their full potential. MVSC is equally devoted to fielding a full compliment of Mill Valley community teams. The mission of NHPSA is to enhance the soccer experience of players and coaches in New Hampshire. We provide our players the opportunity to develop as athletes and as people by fostering an identity of excellence. We strive to produce players who can compete at the highest level of soccer throughout the world.
The Norfolk SharX are a member of the new I-League, a Professional Indoor Soccer League set to begin play this November. The team promises a fast-paced, family friendly environment and is looking forward to its inaugural season!
Perdido Bay Futbol Club (PBFC) is a volunteer, non-profit organization established in 2006 dedicated to the education and development of youth soccer players in all levels of competitive play. The purpose of PBFC is to organize, implement, and maintain a youth soccer program in Pensacola and its surrounding communities. PBFC is devoted to providing a structured development program that offers instruction for children ages 5-18. PBFC offers programs within the club at every level: recreational, academy and select soccer that challenges young players to obtain their full potential.
Ross Valley Breakers FC is located in Ross Valley, CA. A primary focus for the Breakers is to provide an environment that comes close to simulating the “pickup” games of our youth. Many of the players in today’s game were raised playing unsupervised soccer, or “street soccer.” In the US today, soccer is taught in a much more structured way. The Breakers believe in a blend of structured practice and small sided free play so that players can experiment with what they have learned, grow in confidence and make mistakes.
Vision Training Soccer Academy
The Vision Training System is a specialized training system that combines aspects of experiential learning and decision making strategies with research-based technical and tactical soccer training. Founded in 1981 by directors Len Bilous and TJ Kostecky, the Vision Training System teaches players to “See The Field” and make decisions on their own, which is a vital part of youth development. By “Seeing The Field,” players identify and make the best tactical choices, becoming better in much less time than with ordinary soccer training. Players who learn the Vision Training System ease into a creative and self-confident mode when handling the ball and are empowered.
