MPS Success Story
Mass Premier Soccer (MPS) in Waltham, MA is an organization designed for serious soccer players ages 13-19 who are looking to improve their level of play. The club is dedicated to developing soccer players that can compete at the highest level of competition all over the world.
Due to the professional nature of MPS, they decided they needed a website to portray that image that was also easy to maintain. Andrew Moir, Director of Marketing and Communications, had been the webmaster of the club's original in-house website for six years before deciding an external company would provide an easier way for the club to maintain a website. Moir says, "The biggest positive of WebWriter® System is that it is easy to use. Any staff member can log in and make updates, whereas before I had to do it all." This has allowed MPS to update/add content daily which keeps parents and players informed. The feedback from parents, players, prospective players, and other clubs has been great. "They think it is easy to navigate and has a professional look," comments Moir.
After success with the site, MPS decided to adopt the Online Registration System as well. Moir recalls, "Online registration was the biggest change to happen to our organization. Previously we used another system to register campers, not club players, but it was very basic and there was no flexibility on what information we gathered." On the administrative side Moir remarks, "The ability to have a database with information on every single player in one place is essential." There are no more spreadsheets, no illegible handwriting, and fewer phone calls. Another benefit for MPS is that the Finance Department has more time to complete other tasks since they don't have to input all credit card information manually thanks to online payment.
MPS also decided to use the Tournament Management System to help with four tournaments the organization holds each year. Before, all information had to be put into spreadsheets, registrations were done over the phone or through the mail, and it was all very time consuming. Now with applications online and information automatically stored in a database, the process has become much more effortless.
"It has been very good. Initially, when we were first researching companies, we were just looking for websites and Demosphere had the most capabilities," says Moir. "The customer service has been great as well, so we're very happy."
