General Civitan Club Policies
Helpful Guidelines for Players, Parents, & Coaches
Players:
- Kids will be encouraged to develop soccer skills in practice in a challenging but fun environment
- Emphasis in early age groups U6 to U9 will revolve around individual skill development
- Teamwork and game tactics will be introduced slowly and encouraged in ages U10 & above
- Scores and Standings are not kept in early age groups U6-U8. Having fun playing soccer takes precendence over individual game results.
- Kids should have equal playing time and have the opportunity to experiment in multiple field positions in age groups U6 to U10
- Tactical play, defined postions, and creating a more competitive atmosphere will be introduced in age groups U11 to U14. Playing time will be distributed at the coaches discretion relating to player's training habits, player's technical ability, and game situations in upper age groups
- Accept the Civitan's Code of Conduct
Parents & Volunteers:
- Schedule a brief parents meeting with the coach & team manager at the beginning of each season to define policies and establish good team communications.
- Refer to the Civitan Soccer Club website for club news, information, and events
- Review and adhere to the Civitan's Code of Conduct
- Coaches and Team Managers must insure their Kid Safe Form is on file with the Club Manager prior to the start of the season
- Issues relating to conduct of referees, players or coaches should be sent to the Club Manager
- Refund requests should be directed through the Club Manager
Registration and Team Roster Rules
Roster Sizes for Civitans Teams:
- U6-U8: 12-16 players
- U9-U10: 9-11 players
- U11-U12: 11-14 players
- U13-U14: 14-18 players
Registration & Team Formation:
- All players who register on time (Spring- by March 1, Fall- by August 15) will be placed on a Civitans team. Returning players will be given preference to remain on their team only if registered on time.
- Late registrants (after March 1- Spring, after August 15 - Fall) will be placed on teams if space is available on a roster or if a new team can be formed.
