At a recent football tournament over Thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas, dozens of players, coaches, and parents fell ill. The flu-like symptoms affected more than 10% of the teams participating. Of those infected, two had confirmed cases of norovirus, a common illness among cruise ship passengers.
During big events with potential interaction with hundreds of people, attendees and participants should take proper precautions. This includes routine hand washing and being smart when sharing food and water with others.
